Argentina: Malt exports, malting barley crop beat records in 2022

Argentina’s malting barley crop reached record 1.116 mln tonnes in 2022, the nation’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishery reported on February 13.

Total barley crop 2021/22 amounted to 5.279 mln tonnes, the highest in the last ten years, the Ministry said.

The nation’s malt exports beat the previous records too, both in money and volume terms, totalling 669,506 tonnes worth USD387 mln.
